C-Spanners

If “Necessity” is the mother of invention….Then, “Where the hell did I leave it?” is certainly the father.

I had modified an Ohlins “C” spanner to make it easier to access difficult to reach shock absorbers in order to adjust spring preload.

Basically I cut the end off the spanner and re-welded it at an offset close to 90 degrees.

This solved many issues and made for much easier adjustments on even difficult motorcycles.

Somehow the spanner got lost and was dearly missed around the workshop which highlighted yet another anomaly….within the workshop.

Me….“Where’s the offset “C” spanner”?......Staff…..”It should be in the third draw of the toolbox”!

My guys have an amazing ability to let me know where missing items “Should be”…..If it was where it should be I wouldn’t be asking the question in the first place.

Anyway. It didn’t turn up. So rather than just make one, I decided to have a run of them made. Laser cut from 5mm industrial grade stainless steel, our new C spanners solve a great number of problems.

There are both conventional and offset spanners with two different size options. The two lugs on each end provide both pushing and pulling capabilities.

This is a “One off” run and there are limited numbers available. $75 dollars for the pair

And with all anomalies…….No doubt, the old spanner will turn up sometime this week.
